Sofia White Butter Beans 400g

Sofia is an Italian brand producing quality beans. 

Butter beans, or lima beans, are a type of white bean from the Phaseolus lunatus plant, with a buttery, creamy texture. They are bigger than white beans and are called 'Gigantes' in Greek, meaning 'Giant', and are used in the delicious dish Gigantes Plaki.  The canned beans are super convenient for cooking without having to soak and pre-cook. 

The most abundant mineral in the raw lima bean is potassium, followed by calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, and iron. Pulses generally contain a wide range of cancer-fighting plant chemicals, specifically, isoflavones and phytosterols which are associated with reduced cancer risk.
